DHL names Morocco a priority Geographic Tailwinds market
DHL Group designated Morocco as one of its priority Geographic Tailwinds markets at Tangier Logistics Days 2026, citing nearshoring, shifting trade corridors and rising foreign direct investment in North Africa.
At the Tangier Logistics Days 2026 forum, DHL Group said it had designated Morocco as one of its priority Geographic Tailwinds markets. Mary Oxley, Vice President Marketing & Sales at DHL Global Forwarding Middle East & Africa, said Morocco's position between Europe and Africa, its industrial base, logistics infrastructure and workforce position it to benefit from changing trade patterns and increasing investment flows in the years ahead.
The group said it is building on nearly four decades of operations in the country, employing more than 400 logistics professionals across its business divisions and providing air and ocean freight forwarding, express delivery and contract logistics.
DHL Express, which began operating in Morocco in 1987, runs dedicated air express gateways in Casablanca and Tangier, alongside a domestic network of nine service centres and 23 retail outlets and a fleet of 147 delivery vehicles. It also operates two dedicated cargo aircraft and two facilities certified by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA).
DHL Global Forwarding has expanded in Morocco since establishing a presence in 2007, with its main office in Casablanca and branches in Tangier and Agadir. The division manages a 3,600-square-metre warehouse in the Tangier Med Hub Free Zone, offering ocean and air freight forwarding, customs clearance and integrated logistics solutions.
