VMTP container throughput rises 15% in first nine months of 2026

Vladivostok Marine Trade Port handled more than 674,000 TEU from January to September 2026, up 15% from the same period in 2025.

Vladivostok Marine Trade Port (VMTP), part of FESCO under Rosatom's management perimeter, reported handling more than 674,000 TEU in January–September 2026. The result is 15% above the same nine months of 2025. Import cargo was the main growth driver, rising 33%, with container shipments from China remaining the core of imports.

During the summer, monthly container throughput at the port exceeded 80,000 TEU, and August set a new handling record of more than 84,500 TEU. The port attributed the growth to a shift in foreign trade routes toward the Far Eastern basin.

In the nine months of 2026, 1,596 container trains departed from VMTP, 26% more than a year earlier. The volume of cargo carried by them increased 38% to more than 247,000 TEU.
