Davies Turner has acquired a 130,000-square-foot logistics facility near Heathrow Airport to expand its air freight operations. The newly completed site will become the headquarters of Davies Turner Air Cargo.
Located less than two miles from Heathrow's cargo terminal and 500 yards from Junction 14 of the M25, the facility includes about 70,000 sq ft of warehousing with a 12.5-metre clear internal height and two mezzanine floors adding 50,000 sq ft. It also has five dock-loading doors, two level-access loading doors and 10,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation.
The acquisition is part of the company's long-term investment strategy to increase capacity and support customer growth. The building has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification and an EPC A+ energy rating.
Davies Turner Air Cargo managing director James Wheatley called the acquisition a major milestone and said Heathrow remains the UK's premier international cargo gateway. The facility is being prepared for occupation, with an official opening planned for later this year.
