Handling chief says AI could save about eight hours per air cargo shipment

CHI Cargo Group CEO Kai Domscheit said artificial intelligence could save around eight hours per air cargo shipment. He made the remarks at the Aviation Connect event in Athens.

The time saving would come from planning, he said: truck dispatch and collection planning could begin earlier than the traditional release-order trigger.

Domscheit also said the air cargo industry generates vast quantities of operational data, much of which remains trapped in unstructured formats such as emails, PDFs, scans and spreadsheets.

The figure is a potential saving described by the executive, not a confirmed result from a completed deployment.
